New Apartment

We simply can’t keep it a secret anymore. We could not be prouder to announce we are now the owner of our first home. We are overwhelmingly excited about the move into our first apartment. We have been spanking many a late evening glued to our computer screens looking at endless Pinterest pages for inspiration. We have raided years worth of Elle Décor, spent hours scouring the internet for ideas, read every furniture/home catalogue cover to cover and spent afternoons up and down homewear stores across Greater London. We are newly born décor enthusiasts.

We could not be more excited about the move on a personal level, but with it comes the excitement of the visuals, the cosmetics, the interior. This is only our first sweet abode, but it will be ours to put our kiss of personal taste on. Ours and ours alone. Our independent, personally developed, fashion forward little abode.

We have just a few weeks to get our shit together and get the apartment ready to house our stylish selves. We have already been getting our manicure messy painting, decorating and getting stuck in with all the other glamourous duties that come with sorting your first apartment. Something’s will take more time understandably such as refurbishing a perfectly fine bathroom to my acquired taste, but it will be something to work towards and a luxury that can wait. We cannot wait to share with you our glam little flat when it is Watermelon Fox ready.

Twinkle List

It is officially that time of year again, time for the annual Watermelon Fox Twinkle list. A list of wonderous goodies we would love santa to slip in our stockings for Christmas 2012. The list hosts a mixture of beauties we would love to enter our lives this December. It wouldn't be a Watermelon Fox Twinkle List without the ever present scented candles; this years favourite the new Jo Malone Sweet Almond and Macaroon, a pure after hours treat. It was a holiday romance at first sight, a mix of pure love and lust for the festive season. When our emerald eyes met this magpie perfection, we couldn’t help but stare and have fantasies about how glamourous we would look with this jingling piece of arm candy escorting us to all our Christmas engagements. We have long been in awe of the Anya Hindmarch classic glitter clutch bags but this has stepped it up into a whole new bedazzled height. Chunks of rough sparkling metallic glitter and a marriage of multiple sized silver and gold jingle bells. How is a girl ever suppose to resist its charm? This bag was made for Christmas and it was made for Watermelon Fox. Santa.....

Money Can Buy You Style

We are fully into the swing of Winter in Windsor. Though we are still waiting for snow to frost our lawns and our stockings to be filled with Jo Malone goodies, things are feeling all a bit festive. We have been adorning ourselves with black sequins, classic loose tees and embellished jewelled accompaniments to our pre Christmas drinks and social events. Our December uniform of choice may not be keeping us as warm as we need to be but there is definatly something comforting about glamming up to the max. Sometimes just looking and feeling stylish is enough to keep a girl warm.This weeks Money Can Buy You Style is based on this look, a mix of dark sequins with a casual cutting edge top and metallic glamour heels. A perfect outfit combo for any fashionista worth her weight in Christmas sequins.

Gold Tinted Vision

We took a sweet little shopping trip to Westfield to scout out the shops before the pre-Christmas scrum. While we weren’t exclusively looking for holiday gifts, winter warmers or party pieces we were taken by a few eye catching golden wonders from the world of homewear. From skull money jars courtesy of Urban Outfitters to POP Champagne to NYC cab Christmas tree decorations our trip was definatly seen through gold tinted ray bans. We spotted a few contenders for the annual Watermelon Fox Christmas Twinkle List which will be gracing your screens in the coming weeks. We have to say we love how beautifully bedazzled the shops become in the lead up to the holidays, all bright lights with the smoke and mirrors making it consumer heaven only to be trashed into Armageddon with mess, clutter rails and horrendous sale signs the following month. From one extreme of glutton to the other of thrift in the space of a week. This winter we are determined to enjoy the beauty of the festive visual merchandising and shall be sure to keep you posted with any unmissible visions.

Happy Halloween

With Halloween being one of our favourite holidays we couldn’t let it pass us by without wishing our fashionable foxes an enjoyable one. There is far too much to love about Halloween, the chance to get creative with costume and décor, the entertaining games, the candy, the fun of a dark autumnal eve, we can’t fault it. The Halloween party we attended this year gave us inspiration; with taxidermy black crows, test tube shots, x ray projections, dark plum toned lavish fruits and spray painted black pumpkins. We are hoping next year to throw our very own Halloween soirée, we have already started collecting ideas on Pintrest. You can be sure it will be the most gothically glam party in town.

Ibiza Godess

Fall is most definatly upon us, so we saw it fit to squeeze in a last crystal drop of summer sunshine before the big chill sets in. We ventured to the beautiful island of Ibiza for a few days exploring the old town, taking in the culture, sipping mojittos at Café Del Mar, delighting our pallet with gastronomic pleasures and we even squeezed in a morning shopping at the bedazzled boutiques of the island. We loved the Ibiza clubber princess style ruling the aesthetic of the island along with the obvious bohemian hipster vibe. We also discovered a love of full on Indian tribal feather head pieces, even if they have no place in our everyday London lives. A few of the boutiques sold these lavish headpieces, but at £300 a pop and with the hand luggage issue we had to pass unfortunately. When we day dream of ‘Biza we think of Matthew Williamson clad glamazons lounging and partying in a white mega mansion villa sipping cocktails by sparkling pools and disco balls. Our mini vacaay was exactly what we needed and we definatly plan on squeezing ourselves into some Space worthy sequin hot pants and visiting the island once more. Ibiza we shall return.

October Literature

As expressed previously we love a long afternoon smoozing over the latest fashion literature. While we all know The September Issue is the all hail hero of the fashion publication calender, we have enjoyed several lazy hours reading this years October Issues. Nylon, Wonderland, i-D  and InStyle all made the cut and have got us pumped up for the A/W's must haves. We all need abit of glossy, creative inspiration ready for coming season and these four booklets of beauty have got us dreaming of the enticing trends to come.

With our fresh ombre hair, we love a bit of relaxed luxe festival chic style this summer. So much so that we wish we had been wearing this casual get up this weekend with round shades, tousled hair and tanned limbs. If we had had the money, this is def the style we would have been rocking. We may have to add this Zoe Karassen tee to our wish list ready for pay day.

Summer Musings

Summer 2012 really has been the height of activity, we have been going to town to make sure this is one of our favourite and most memorable summers to date. We have been entertaining ourself with such play including Lovebox festival, Jack Wills Varsity Polo, Ascot Races, Windsor Races, BBQs, Nights Out, Flat Hunting as well as vacations to Turkey and Spain. We wanted to share a quick reel of some snippets in time from our summer months thus far.

Going for Olympic Gold

The London Olympics 2012 has officially begun and we are celebrating it here at Watermelon Fox with a golden blog post. While recently admiring the fabulous flags linning Regents Street we found another excuse to stumble into one of our favourite luxury beauty stores, Molton Brown. To champion the 2012 games, Molton Brown have created three limited edition variants of their original washes available in winning gold, silver and bronze packaging. We like this prize winning concept and would love for the golden handwash to wash our manicured mitts. Surely there is no more glamourous way to cleanse this Olympic season.

Money Can Buy You Style

Our heads are officially in summer mode, can you feel the sunshine? We are envisioning a weekend filled with rays of sun, old skool cloudy lemonade (with an alcoholic twist) and a twinkling, glistening lake/pool somewhere. This isn’t the only thing we are dreaming of this week, we can’t stop thinking about this edition of Money Can Buy You Style. We are loving the mix of blushing peach tones with the amazing print of the Kain top. There is something very Mulberry about this top, and we love it. How we wish this outfit could be ours, we want it for our S/S 12 wardrobe.

Neons of Summer

Its official, summer is on its way! That's if the Great British weather reports are to be believed anyway. After months of silver overtones cast over our skies, we welcome to sunshine and heat headed our way. To celebrate we are adding a burst of colourful edge to todays post. Introducing the latest editions to our nail closet, an array of juicy OPI summer delights. From barbie worthy fusha to electric glittered topaz we can't wait for these little rays of sunshine to brighten up our mani pedis in the coming few weeks. Our personal favourites 'The 'IT' Colour' yellow and 'Who the Shrek are you?' lime to compliment our S/S 12 wardrobe.

ASOS Gems

This week our professional life lead us to ASOS HQ where we stumbled across the most faboosh array of jewels and accessories we have seen in a long time. From statement sunnies and devilish spiked bracelets to costume cocktail rings and layered frenemy bracelets we were in L-O-V-E. Below are a few snapshots from our evening at ASOS, looks like our next pay day is going to be an expensive one!

Wimbledon

Wimbledon to us is more about the Pimms, strawberries and cream, British tradition, Ralph Lauren uniforms, exquisite surroundings and what Kate Middleton is wearing than the actual tennis itself. We appreciate the visuals of Wimbledon with its groomed appearances. While we may not be glued to watching the sport, we do love abit of Wimbledon spirit. We spotted these beautiful bouquets this morning, embracing the traditional Wimbledon colour spectrum of lawn green, tennis ball yellow and rich royal purples. All garnished with a decorative tennis ball center piece and checked lawn print wrapping. Perfect for any Wimbledon Final party.

All about the pretty junk

Watermelon Fox has made a stylish discovery in new fash brand The Pretty Junk. A very young brand, The Pretty Junk was only established A/W 11 but has more than got the talent to go far for  years to come. Their style is all about dressed down pleasure and we for one want it for our causal play time wardrobe. The brand projects a laid back, off duty look. Think down town city street style be that London, NYC or LA. In their own words their clothes are stylish and modest yet beautifully selfish and openly generous on the eye, we couldn’t agree more. We wouldn’t mind being spotted wearing the loose grey ‘Too dumb for New York, too ugly for LA’ tee with a pair of ripped cut off denim shorts. Talking of denim, we are struggling to resist their range of Levi vintage cut-off shorts adorned with a pyramid of studds and patchwork Aztec rear pockets. Why are these not already sitting in our wardrobe?

Other points of interest include the aptly named Frenemies bracelets, a modern edge on the traditional idea of friendship bracelets. The Pretty Junk is only available online but is definately worth hitting up. At Watermelon Fox we are keen champions of the brand and look forward to watching it explode into a fashion starburst. We also hope to get our hands on some of their wonders in the near future, watch this space.

Heart of Gold

Just a quick hit of love this Tuesday evening. We spotted this beautiful golden heart window display at Hermés on Bond Street. Framing a scorching orange leather bag and silver heels, the visual display was to promote the Leather Forever exhibition which we also attended. The exhibition may have already come to an end but this gold heart of fabulousness continues to add love to our day.

Late Dress

So it is almost a month to the day too late, but we just wanted to share with you the fabulous dress that we wore to our birthday drinks. We managed to squeeze ourselves into the teeny size four dress (if it’s a choice between accepting a size four or not having the dress, we are going for the dress everytime). With a butterscotch base and coated with a sleek layer of nude, ivory and steel sequins, it was love at first sight. If any dress were to ever make a girl feel like a million dollars on her birthday, it is this dress. Youthful, fresh, glam this dress had it covered, we love it. The dress is a complete balance act winning us over with feeling amazing and looking amazing. Body con, sequins, perfect fit, flattering tones; this dress is one birthday treat we shall always love.

Jubilant

Just a quick note from one fox to another wishing you an amazing Jubilee weekend. We may be too busy sunning ourselves in Spain to dive into the London festivities but we have totes enjoyed the lead up, decorations and creativity surrounding the Jubilee at home the week before. Holiday Collective

Believe it or not we are off on another summer vacay. This time to Alacante for a week chasing the sun by day and sipping ice cold pina colada's by night. We can not wait for the Spainish heat to touch our skin, our coral pedicure to touch the turquoise pool and our blonde locks to get a further sunkiss. We have packed up our holiday wardrobe and can't wait to start wearing out little short combo's just as the English skies glaze over. This is one fox, who's summer wardrobe is designed for warmer climates.

Turkish Delight

What is not to love about holiday dressing? Our Turkish style was inspired by brightness and the colourful hues that weren’t getting a look in against the bleak  grey backdrops of London in early May. Colourful fashion is designed for a sun burst climate, so we donned our very best margarita lime, sunset coral, tropical prints and colour blocking while on our Turkey 2012 vacay. So we are obsessing about our new clutch bag. Neon:Check, Tribal print: Check, Intense beading: Check. All this in one fabulous S/S 12 bag, how could we not add this to our summer wardrobe? Money Can Buy You Style

It is Friday night, which means by law we are not allowed to stay in. Tonight we have dinner plans and are dreaming of this Money Can Buy You Style outfit to help us sit gracefully somewhere between fashionably casual yet glamourously feminine. We are loving the retro luxe look of this attire. Ideally we would pair this with our cropped zipped leather jacket which would add a different element to the look. The classic leopard print paired with the muted nude collar and the curves of the dark black skirt, make for an unexpected fashion combo. This outfit is not a choice for everyone but we for one wouldn’t mind wearing this little number to a Girls Dinner tonight.

Delicious Treat

Forgive us, for we have not been lazy foxes, infact quite the opposite. Life has been sky rocketing these past two months which has meant Watermelon Fox has not been recieving its usual love. But its time to get back on track with the blogging and hit you with some stimualting delights. Still got it, never lost it.

While Easter may have overtaken us in a flash of striking rays, our lust for all things chocolatey has continued beyond the bank holiday. Our sweet tooth needs are currently being met by the fabulous Chocolate Truffle scented candle by Watermelon Fox favourite, Lily Flame. One has to be selective with this brand of scented luxuries but this chocolate enduced burner meets our needs and more. It is currently filling up our peachy noses as we type. Delicious,but the question is can you resist its chocolatey lust?

Utterly Feminine Weekend

Here are a few snippets of little goings on from the weekend just been, it was an utterly feminine one. These rich red roses and lilies are currently flooding my bedroom with gorgeousness. The two day affair was also full of Diptyque candles in BAIES which has a deep scent which reminds us of a bouquet of roses accented with complimentary blackcurrant leaves. Also in a quest to continue with the interior décor transformation that is currently underway in our boudoir we hunted down a perfect light fitting this weekend that is classic yet with an understated fabulousness. Part of the weekend was spend in glowing lighting departments floating around the glistening light fittings. How enchanting is the sound of chandelier crystals dusting past each other with a delicate tinkle sound.
